North East X Factor winners Little Mix have been announced for ‘T4 On The Beach’ this summer. Little Mix, who became the first group to win the talent show last year, include two members from South Shields. They’ll join many other chart toppers from the past 12 months will be at the Weston-Super-Mare event on July 1st. Labrinth, a star of 2011 will also be among the acts, as will Rizzle Kicks and -Dubz front man Dappy. Four-piece Cover Drive who went to the top of the charts with their single ‘Twilight’ will also perform, fresh from supporting Rhianna on tour.

Other acts to have performed on the show are some of UK’s hottest acts such as Rachel Stevens, Girls Aloud, The Saturdays and even the Sugababes who debuted their new single there last year!!

Little Mix’s cover of the En Vogue track saw them to victory in the last series of The X Factor, and the girl band will perform a newly-choreographed routine when they return at the National Television Awards tonight at London’s O2 Arena. Popular home-grown shows such as Doctor Who, Downton Abbey and The Only Way is Essex are up for awards at the ceremony, which are voted for entirely by the public. Formed from individual X Factor contestants Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson and Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Little Mix edged out Marcus Collins to be crowned 2011 champions of the ITV talent contest and are expected to release a debut album sometime this year. The National Television Awards will air live on ITV1 tonight at 7.30pm.
